These homemade baked beans are rich in flavor and perfect for any meal, made with simple and wholesome ingredients.

1 cup navy beans, soaked overnight and drained
4 cups water
¼ cup ketchup
¼ cup maple syrup
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons molasses
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
½ teaspoon salt
⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper
⅛ teaspoon chili powder
1 small onion, chopped

Cook the Beans: Place the soaked and drained beans in a large saucepan with 4 cups of water. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 1 hour.
2️⃣ Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
3️⃣ Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, stir together the ketchup, maple syrup, brown sugar, molasses, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and chili powder; set aside.
4️⃣ Combine Ingredients: Once the beans have simmered for 1 hour, drain them and reserve the cooking liquid. Pour the beans into a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish. Stir in the chopped onion and the prepared sauce. Add enough reserved cooking liquid to cover the beans by 1/4 inch.
5️⃣ Bake the Beans: Cover the dish and bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Reduce the heat to 200°F (95°C) and cook for 6 hours longer, stirring the beans after they have cooked for 3 hours.
6️⃣ Finish and Serve: Once the beans are tender and the sauce is reduced and sticky, remove the dish from the oven. Stir the beans, cover again, and allow them to stand for 15 minutes before serving.

Quick-Soak Option:
