Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1–1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or cheese blend)
  • Optional toppings: pickles, sliced tomatoes, lettuce, ketchup, mustard

Instructions

1. Cook the Beef

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and sauté 3–4 minutes until soft.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add ground beef, breaking it apart with a spoon.
  5. Cook until beef is browned and cooked through, about 6–8 minutes.
  6. Season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce if using.
  7. Drain excess fat and set aside.

2. Assemble the Quesadillas

  1. Lay a tortilla flat on a clean surface.
  2. Sprinkle half of the cheese evenly over one side.
  3. Add a layer of cooked ground beef.
  4. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top, then cover with a second tortilla.

3. Cook the Quesadillas

  1. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat.
  2. Place the quesadilla in the skillet and cook 2–3 minutes per side, pressing lightly with a spatula, until the tortillas are golden brown and cheese is melted.
  3. Repeat with remaining tortillas and filling.

4. Serve

  • Slice each quesadilla into wedges.
  • Serve with optional toppings or dipping sauces like ketchup, mustard, or a simple burger sauce.

💡 Tips:

  • For extra cheesiness, use a mix of cheddar and Monterey Jack.
  • Add caramelized onions or sautéed mushrooms for gourmet flavor.
  • To make it more like a burger, add shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes after cooking, right before serving.
