Ingredients:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chunks
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix well. Fold in chocolate chunks and walnuts, if using.
Drop by rounded tablespoons onto prepared baking sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are firm. Let cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
