Ingredients
- ยฝ cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
- 6 oz dark chocolate (chopped or chips)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 large egg yolks
- ยฝ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Extra chocolate chunks (optional, for gooey centers)
Instructions
Step 1 โ Melt Base
- In a heatproof bowl, melt butter and chocolate together (microwave in 20-sec intervals or use double boiler). Stir until smooth.
Step 2 โ Add Sugar & Eggs
- Whisk in powdered sugar.
- Add eggs and egg yolks, whisking until creamy.
Step 3 โ Fold in Flour
- Stir in flour, vanilla, and salt until just combined (donโt overmix).
Step 4 โ Fill Cups
- Grease mugs or oven-safe cups.
- Fill each halfway, drop in a chocolate chunk (optional), then cover with more batter.
Step 5 โ Bake
- Bake at 425ยฐF (220ยฐC) for 12โ14 minutes until tops are set but centers are soft.
- For microwave version: cook 1โ1.5 minutes (watch closely).
Step 6 โ Serve
- Let rest for 1 minute, then serve warm.
- Optional: top with ice cream, whipped cream, or powdered sugar.
