🌲 Spinach Puff Pastry Christmas Trees

Yields: 6 trees
Prep Time: 10–15 min | Bake Time: 15–18 min

⭐ Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 cup frozen chopped spinach, thawed & squeezed very dry
  • ½ cup garlic & herb cream cheese (or plain cream cheese + ½ tsp garlic powder)
  • ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for topping)
  • Salt & pepper, to taste

⭐ Quick Filling (No Cooking Needed)

  1. In a bowl, mix together:
    • Spinach
    • Cream cheese
    • Shredded cheese
    • Salt & pepper to taste
  2. Set aside — ready to use immediately.

⭐ How to Shape the Trees (Fast Method)

  1. Cut the Pastry:
    • Preheat oven to 400°F / 200°C
    • Cut the puff pastry into long strips, about 1 inch wide
  2. Form the Trees:
    • Roll each strip into a loose spiral, starting wide at the bottom and narrowing at the top to resemble a tree.
    • Press lightly to hold the spiral shape.
    • Spoon or pipe small amounts of spinach filling between layers.

Tip: For perfectly cone-shaped trees, you can wrap the strips around foil molds — optional.

⭐ Bake

  1. Brush the spirals lightly with beaten egg.
  2. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
  3. Bake for 15–18 minutes until puffed and golden.
  4. Let cool slightly, then serve warm.

🎄 Optional Decoration Ideas

  • Dot the tops with tiny pieces of red bell pepper or cherry tomato as “ornaments”
  • Lightly dust with grated Parmesan for a “snowy” effect
  • Use a toothpick to pipe little dots of cream cheese as garlands
