Pizza Dough:

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups warm water (about 110°F or 43°C)
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes, or until it becomes frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.
  3. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture, then pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until the dough comes together.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise for about 1-2 hours, or until it has doubled in size.

Pizza Making:

  1. Preheat your oven to the highest temperature it can reach (usually around 500°F or 260°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it’s heating.
  2. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into the desired number of pizza portions. This will depend on the size of the pizzas you want to make.
  3. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into your desired pizza shape.
  4. Place the rolled-out dough on a pizza peel or an inverted baking sheet dusted with cornmeal or flour. This will make it easier to transfer the pizza to the oven.
  5. Add your favorite pizza sauce, cheese, and toppings. Be creative with your toppings!
  6. Slide the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or place it directly on a baking sheet if you don’t have a stone.
  7. Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling and slightly browned.
  8. Carefully remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a minute or two, then slice and enjoy!
