INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup unsalted butter
8 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
INSTRUCTIONS
Prepare the Dough:
Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Melt Butter and Chocolate:
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the 1/2 cup unsalted butter and 8 ounces chopped semisweet chocolate together in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval until smooth. Allow to cool slightly.
Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 teaspoon baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
Combine Wet Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, beat together 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar, 3 large eggs, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until well combined.
Add Melted Chocolate:
Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture to the sugar mixture, mixing until smooth.
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Fold in Chocolate Chips:
Fold in 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips.
Bake the Cookies:
Scoop Dough:
Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
Cool Cookies:
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
