Deliciously soft and chewy cookie bars packed with colorful M&Ms and chocolate chips!
Ingredients:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 large eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups M&Ms
2 cups chocolate chips
Directions:
Preheat and Prep: Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until light and fluffy.
Add Eggs and Vanilla: Lightly beat the eggs and mix them into the butter and sugar mixture along with the vanilla extract until fully combined.
Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing well after each addition until a thick cookie dough forms.
Fold in Add-ins: Fold in chocolate chips and 1 cup of M&Ms until evenly distributed.
Spread Dough: Spread the cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, pressing it evenly with a spatula.
Add Toppings: Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of M&Ms on top of the dough.
Bake: Bake for 20-22 minutes, or until edges are lightly browned and center is set.
Cool and Serve: Let cool in the pan for at least 20 minutes before cutting into 36 bars.
