Smart Swaps for Slimming:

  • Choose wholemeal bread from your Healthy Extra B (HEB) allowance
  • Use lighter than light mayo (very low syns)
  • Load up on Speed foods like tomatoes and lettuce

🍽️ Ingredients (for 1 sandwich):

  • 2 slices wholemeal bread (from 400g loaf) – HEB choice
  • 2–3 slices lean back bacon medallionsSyn-free
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced – Speed food
  • Lettuce leaves – Speed food
  • 1 tsp lighter than light mayonnaise0.5 syns
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Low-calorie cooking spray (like Frylight)

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Grill or pan-fry the bacon medallions using low-calorie spray until crisp.
  2. Toast or leave bread untoasted – your preference.
  3. Spread 1 tsp of lighter than light mayo on one (or both) slices of bread.
  4. Layer with lettuce, tomato slices, and cooked bacon.
  5. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Put it all together and serve!

🔁 Optional Add-ons (Still Slimming Friendly):

  • Add sliced red onion, cucumber, or pickles for more speed
  • Swap mayo for fat-free plain yogurt with a squeeze of lemon (for a syn-free spread)
