Spicy Garlic Roasted Chicken

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole chicken, cut into serving pieces
  • 4 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes (optional, for heat)
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ginger powder
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce or fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for a light glaze)

Instructions:

1. Make the Marinade:
In a mixing bowl, combine the garlic, olive oil, paprika, chili flakes, black pepper, salt, cumin, ginger powder, soy sauce (or lemon juice), and honey. Stir well until blended.

2. Marinate the Chicken:
Add the chicken pieces and coat them thoroughly with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight for deeper flavor.

3. Preheat the Oven:
Set your oven to 200°C (400°F) and allow it to fully preheat.

4. Arrange for Baking:
Line a baking tray with foil or parchment paper. Arrange the marinated chicken pieces evenly on the tray.

5. Roast:
Bake for 35–45 minutes, turning the pieces halfway through, until the chicken is golden brown and fully cooked.

6. Optional Glaze:
For extra shine and flavor, brush the chicken with a little honey or melted butter during the last 5 minutes of baking.

7. Serve:
Serve hot with rice, fries, fresh salad, or warm bread.
