Dive into a culinary delight with Weight War’s Manicotti, a wholesome and points-conscious twist on the classic Italian comfort dish. This rendition effortlessly marries the richness of traditional flavors with a mindful approach, providing a satisfying experience for those on a wellness journey.
The centerpiece of this dish is the manicotti shells, carefully chosen to align with Weight War’s guidelines. These pasta tubes cradle a filling that’s a harmonious blend of part-skim ricotta, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, and a touch of egg for binding. Infused with the freshness of chopped parsley, each bite unfolds as a symphony of textures and tastes.
Nestled in a bed of marinara sauce, carefully selected for its low-point attributes or crafted from scratch, the filled manicotti enters the oven. As it bakes to golden perfection, the cheese melds with the sauce, creating an enticing aroma that beckons to be savored. The result is a dish that encapsulates the essence of Italian home-cooking while respecting the principles of mindful eating.
Garnished with fresh basil or parsley, and perhaps an extra sprinkle of Parmesan, the Weight War’s Manicotti invites you to relish each bite without compromise. Whether shared with loved ones or enjoyed as a solo indulgence, this dish encapsulates the joy of savoring a classic comfort food reimagined for a healthier lifestyle. With a nod to points-consciousness, it stands as a testament to the idea that wellness and culinary pleasure can coexist, providing a flavorful journey for those who seek a balance between tradition and mindful nourishment. Adjust the ingredient quantities to fit your individual Weight War’s plan, and enjoy the satisfaction of savoring a delicious, guilt-free meal.
Manicotti
1pt Manicotti Super delicious and so excited I have another low point dinner. I use the egg wraps zero point, homemade tomato sauce zero points, fat-free cottage cheese zero points, shredded craft mozzarella cheese one point and one egg zero points and Parmesan garlic seasoning zero points. Baked at 400 for about 20 minutes. My recipe (feel free to modify as you see fit)
- Yielded 5 manicottis 1 w-w point
- Ingredients:
- 12 oz fat free cottage cheese
- 1/2 cup of fat free kraft mozzarella
- 2 tablespoons of parmesan garlic seasoning
- 1 egg
- 5 egg white wraps (I swear these taste just like pasta) Most grocery stores sell this near the eggs or amazon
- Fresh tomatoe sauce (home made fresh tomatoes, garlic and onions and parsley blend in blender and then heat up)
- Instruction:
- Mix all ingredients then place cheese mixture in egg wrap and roll
- Bake at 400 for around 20 mins or until heated thru.
