Zero-Sugar 2-Ingredient Berry Dump Cake

A shockingly easy dessert that tastes like you spent hours on it.
No eggs. No butter. No mixing bowls. Just pour, bake, and watch it turn into a golden, fluffy berry cake with juicy pockets of fruit in every bite.

Perfect for busy nights, last-minute guests, or when you want dessert without the guilt.

Ingredients

(Yes — it really is just these.)

  • 1 box Zero-Sugar Yellow Cake Mix
  • 1 bottle Zero-Sugar Lemon-Lime Soda (Sprite)
  • 3–4 cups frozen mixed berries (optional but recommended)

Optional topping: Zero-sugar Cool Whip

Instructions

1. Prepare Your Pan

Lightly spray a 9×13 baking dish with nonstick spray.

2. Add the Berries

Pour the frozen berry blend directly into the pan.
Spread evenly — no need to thaw.

3. Add the Cake Mix

Sprinkle the entire box of dry cake mix evenly over the berries.
Do not mix.

4. Pour the Soda

Slowly pour the zero-sugar Sprite on top of the dry mix.

  • Make sure to moisten as much of the surface as possible.
  • Do not stir — that’s the magic of the dump cake.

5. Bake

Bake at 350°F (177°C) for 45–50 minutes,
until the top is:

  • bubbly
  • golden
  • lightly crisp around the edges

The berries will create pockets of jammy goodness underneath.

6. Cool & Serve

Let it sit for 10–15 minutes so the filling sets.
Serve warm with a dollop of chilled zero-sugar Cool Whip.

Storage

  • Refrigerate up to 4 days.
  • Reheat in the microwave for a warm, gooey treat.
  • Freezes well for up to 2 months.

Notes & Tips

  • Works with any frozen fruit: peach, strawberry, blueberry, mixed berry.
  • Use diet ginger ale for a slightly spiced flavor.
  • Add cinnamon for a warm, bakery-style taste.
  • For a fluffier, cake-like texture: add ½ cup soda more.
  • For a denser cobbler: add ½ cup less.
