Ingredients
- 1ยฝ pounds ground beef (85% lean)
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 large egg
- 1ยฝ teaspoons salt
- ยฝ teaspoon black pepper
- ยฝ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 cup dry bread crumbs
- 1โ2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
Instructions
1. Prepare the Meat Mixture
In a large bowl combine:
- ground beef
- finely chopped onion
- egg
- salt
- black pepper
- red pepper flakes
Mix well until evenly combined.
2. Shape the Cutlets
Use about 3 tablespoons of the mixture for each portion.
Shape into oval or round patties.
Roll each patty in dry breadcrumbs until fully coated.
3. Heat the Pan
Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
Add:
- vegetable oil
- butter
Allow the butter to melt and coat the pan.
4. Cook the Cutlets
Place the cutlets in the skillet.
Cook for about 5 minutes on each side, covering the skillet with a lid.
They should develop a golden brown crust.
5. Check for Doneness
Cut one cutlet in half to check.
The inside should be fully cooked but still juicy.
