Beef, Onion & Pepper Skillet (Full Recipe)

Ingredients

  • ½ lb lean ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, if beef is very lean)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder (optional)
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes or 1 cup tomato sauce (optional — depending on your recipe)
  • Optional additions:
    • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
    • ½ teaspoon cumin
    • Red pepper flakes
    • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Brown the beef
Heat a skillet over medium heat.
Add ground beef and cook until no longer pink, breaking it up as it cooks.
    Drain extra fat if needed.
  2. Add vegetables
Add chopped onion, green pepper, red pepper, and garlic to the skillet.
Cook 5–7 minutes, stirring, until vegetables soften.
  3. Season
Add salt, pepper, paprika, and any optional spices you like.
  4. Optional: Add tomatoes/sauce
If you’re making a saucy mixture (for rice bowls, stuffed peppers, etc.), stir in diced tomatoes or tomato sauce.
Simmer 5–10 minutes to blend flavors.
  5. Taste & adjust
Add more salt, pepper, or seasoning to your liking.
  6. Serve
Great in tortillas, pasta, rice bowls, over baked potatoes, or inside stuffed peppers.
