🧾 Ingredients
For the dough:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp yeast
- 1 cup warm milk (or water)
- 2 tbsp oil or melted butter
For the filling:
- 400–500 g ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt & black pepper (to taste)
- 1 tsp paprika or chili flakes
- 1 tsp cumin (optional)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
For topping:
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Extra cheese (optional)
- Fresh parsley (optional)
👨🍳 Instructions
1. Make the dough
- Mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast → rest 5–10 minutes
- Add flour, salt, and oil → knead into soft dough
- Cover and let rise for 1 hour (until doubled)
2. Prepare filling
- In a pan, cook beef with onion and garlic
- Add spices, cook until browned
- Let it cool slightly
3. Roll & fill
- Roll dough into a large rectangle
- Spread meat evenly across the surface
- Sprinkle cheese on top
4. Shape
- Roll tightly into a log (like in the picture)
- Place seam-side down on a baking tray
5. Bake
- Brush with egg wash
- Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25–30 minutes
- Add extra cheese on top in last 5 minutes if you want it extra cheesy
🍽️ Serve
- Slice into thick rolls
- Garnish with parsley
- Serve hot while cheese is melted
🔥 Tips
- Add ketchup or chili sauce inside for extra flavor
- Use puff pastry instead of dough for a quicker version
- Mix beef + chicken for a lighter option
