Cottage Cheese Chocolate Mousse (High Protein!)

Servings: 2 servings
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup cottage cheese, full-fat
  • 2–3 tbsp honey
  • 1–2 tbsp cocoa powder (start with 1 tbsp, then adjust to taste)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Blend the mousse
Add all ingredients to a food processor or blender. Blend on high until smooth and creamy. If the texture looks grainy, continue blending until it’s completely smooth.
  2. Chill (Optional)
If the mousse is too thin, allow it to set in the fridge for at least 1 hour to thicken. You can also add 1 tbsp chia seeds or flax seeds to thicken immediately.
  3. Serve & Top
Spoon into serving bowls and top with whipped cream, fresh fruit, or chocolate shavings for extra flavor and texture!

Additional Notes

  • Cottage Cheese Tip: Use full-fat (4% milk fat) cottage cheese for the creamiest mousse. Be sure to drain any excess liquid before blending.
  • Sweetness Adjustment: Adjust the honey to your sweetness preference.
  • Texture Tip: If the mousse feels too thin, chilling it in the fridge helps it set, or add chia/flax seeds for a quicker fix.

Variations

  • Chocolate Lovers: Add a handful of dark chocolate chips or a drizzle of melted chocolate on top.
  • Vegan Option: Use plant-based cottage cheese and maple syrup for a dairy-free version.
  • More Protein: Add a scoop of protein powder (chocolate flavor works great!) to boost protein content.
