(As provided)
Instructions
1. Prep the Scallops
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Pat scallops very dry (this ensures a nice texture).
- Lightly season with salt and pepper.
- Place them in a small baking dish or oven-safe skillet in a single layer.
2. Make the Topping
- In a bowl, combine:
- Melted butter
- Minced garlic
- Breadcrumbs
- Parmesan
- Chopped parsley
- Lemon juice
- Stir until the mixture resembles a moist, buttery crumb.
3. Bake
- Spoon the garlic–parmesan mixture evenly over each scallop.
- Bake 12–15 minutes, until scallops are opaque and topping is golden.
- If you want extra browning, broil for the last 1–2 minutes.
4. Serve
Serve hot with lemon wedges, extra parsley, and crusty bread or rice.
Tips for Best Results
- Don’t overbake — scallops should be tender, not rubbery.
- Add a pinch of paprika for color.
- Swap half the butter for olive oil if you prefer lighter flavor.
