Ingredients

  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 3 tbsp custard powder (vanilla or mango flavor)
  • ยฝ cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup mango pulp (fresh or canned)
  • ยฝ cup mixed dry fruits & nuts (cashews, almonds, pistachios, raisins โ€“ chopped)
  • ยฝ tsp cardamom powder (optional)
  • Fresh mango cubes (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Step 1 โ€“ Prepare Custard Base

  1. Take ยฝ cup milk in a small bowl and mix in custard powder. Stir until smooth and lump-free.
  2. In a saucepan, heat the remaining 2 ยฝ cups milk and sugar. Bring to a gentle boil.

Step 2 โ€“ Cook Custard

  1. Slowly add the custard-milk mixture to the boiling milk, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
  2. Cook on medium heat for 5โ€“7 minutes until the custard thickens and coats the back of a spoon.
  3. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Step 3 โ€“ Add Mango Flavor

  1. Once the custard has cooled to lukewarm, fold in mango pulp and cardamom powder.
  2. Mix until smooth and creamy.

Step 4 โ€“ Add Dry Fruits

  1. Stir in chopped nuts and raisins.
  2. Pour custard into cups or serving glasses.

Step 5 โ€“ Chill & Serve

  1. Cover with cling wrap and refrigerate for 2โ€“3 hours.
  2. Garnish with fresh mango cubes or extra nuts before serving.

Additional Notes

  • Use alphonso or kesar mangoes for best flavor.
  • For richer custard, add 2 tbsp condensed milk.
  • If mango pulp is very sweet, reduce sugar.
  • Can be made a day ahead for parties.
