Ingredients
- 3 cups whole milk
- 3 tbsp custard powder (vanilla or mango flavor)
- ยฝ cup sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 cup mango pulp (fresh or canned)
- ยฝ cup mixed dry fruits & nuts (cashews, almonds, pistachios, raisins โ chopped)
- ยฝ tsp cardamom powder (optional)
- Fresh mango cubes (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
Step 1 โ Prepare Custard Base
- Take ยฝ cup milk in a small bowl and mix in custard powder. Stir until smooth and lump-free.
- In a saucepan, heat the remaining 2 ยฝ cups milk and sugar. Bring to a gentle boil.
Step 2 โ Cook Custard
- Slowly add the custard-milk mixture to the boiling milk, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
- Cook on medium heat for 5โ7 minutes until the custard thickens and coats the back of a spoon.
- Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
Step 3 โ Add Mango Flavor
- Once the custard has cooled to lukewarm, fold in mango pulp and cardamom powder.
- Mix until smooth and creamy.
Step 4 โ Add Dry Fruits
- Stir in chopped nuts and raisins.
- Pour custard into cups or serving glasses.
Step 5 โ Chill & Serve
- Cover with cling wrap and refrigerate for 2โ3 hours.
- Garnish with fresh mango cubes or extra nuts before serving.
Additional Notes
- Use alphonso or kesar mangoes for best flavor.
- For richer custard, add 2 tbsp condensed milk.
- If mango pulp is very sweet, reduce sugar.
- Can be made a day ahead for parties.
