Marry Me Chicken Pasta

Ingredients:

For the Chicken and Pasta:

  • 16 oz boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 12 oz penne pasta (uncooked)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

For the Marry Me Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Cook pasta:
    • Cook penne pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Cook chicken:
    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Season chicken with salt and pepper.
    • Cook chicken until golden brown and fully cooked, about 5โ€“7 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. Make the sauce:
    • In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
    • Add minced garlic and sautรฉ for 30โ€“60 seconds until fragrant.
    • Stir in flour to make a roux and cook for 1โ€“2 minutes.
    • Gradually whisk in chicken broth and heavy cream until smooth.
    • Add red pepper flakes (if using) and Parmesan cheese. Stir until cheese is melted and sauce thickens.
    • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Combine:
    • Add the cooked chicken and pasta to the sauce. Toss until everything is evenly coated.
  5. Serve:
    • Garnish with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan if desired.
    • Serve hot as a rich, creamy, and flavorful dinner.
