Prep time: 10 mins | Servings: Makes about 12-15 balls
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups Old-fashioned rolled oats (provides the texture seen in the photo)
½ cup Creamy peanut butter (natural/drippy works best for binding)
⅓ cup Honey or maple syrup (as the “glue”)
¼ cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
⅓ cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips (mini chips work best for small balls)
1 scoop Protein powder (optional, vanilla or chocolate)
Optional: A pinch of sea salt or a splash of vanilla extract to enhance the flavor.
Instructions:
Mix the Base: In a large bowl, stir together the peanut butter, honey, and vanilla (if using) until smooth.
Add Dry Ingredients: Fold in the oats, cocoa powder, and protein powder. Mix until everything is well-coated.
Fold in Chips: Stir in the chocolate chips last so they don’t melt or break.
Chill (Important): Place the bowl in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes. This makes the dough less sticky and much easier to roll.
Roll: Scoop about 1 tablespoon of the mixture at a time and roll between your palms to form balls (roughly 1 inch in diameter).
Store: Keep them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week, or freeze them for up to 3 months.
