Slimming Cottage Cheese Bagels

Makes: 4 bagels

Ingredients

  • 200g self-raising flour (28 Syns total)
  • 200g fat-free cottage cheese (Syn-free)
  • 1 egg (for dough)
  • 1 beaten egg (for glaze)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional toppings: sesame seeds, onion flakes, or everything bagel seasoning (Syns vary – usually minimal)


Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (fan 160°C). Line a baking tray with parchment.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, cottage cheese, egg, and salt until a dough forms.
  3. Lightly flour a surface and knead dough for 1–2 minutes until smooth.
  4. Divide into 4 pieces, roll into balls, then poke a hole in the centre to shape into bagels.
  5. Place on baking tray, brush with beaten egg, and sprinkle with toppings if using.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Let cool slightly before slicing.
