Rich. Glossy. Spoon-licking good.
This is the kind of hot fudge that turns ordinary ice cream into something unforgettable. Thick, silky, and deeply chocolatey — and made with just four simple ingredients.
🛒 Ingredients
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- ½ cup unsalted butter, cubed
- ½ cup heavy cream
Optional (but lovely):
- Tiny pinch of salt
- Splash of vanilla extract
👩🍳 Directions
1️⃣ Prep
Lightly spray the inside of a small slow cooker (2–4 quart) with nonstick spray for easy cleanup.
2️⃣ Combine
Add directly to the slow cooker:
- Chocolate chips
- Sweetened condensed milk
- Cubed butter
- Heavy cream
No stirring needed yet.
3️⃣ Cook
Cover and cook on LOW for 1½ to 2 hours.
During the last hour:
- Stir every 20–30 minutes
- Scrape edges and bottom to prevent scorching
4️⃣ Check & Adjust
When the mixture is:
- Completely smooth
- Thick
- Glossy
Turn slow cooker to WARM.
Taste and add:
- Pinch of salt (enhances chocolate flavor)
- Splash of vanilla (optional)
5️⃣ Jar the Fudge
Carefully ladle into clean, heat-safe mason jars placed on a towel.
- Leave a little space at the top
- Wipe rims clean
- Let cool uncovered until thickened and shiny
6️⃣ Store & Serve
Once cooled:
- Seal with lids
- Refrigerate
Fudge thickens more as it chills.
To serve:
- Microwave 15–20 seconds at a time, stirring between bursts
OR - Set jar in warm water until smooth and pourable
🍨 Perfect Over
- Vanilla ice cream
- Brownies
- Cheesecake
- Pancakes
- Fresh strawberries
- Spoon straight from the jar (no judgment)
🔥 Tips
- Use good-quality chocolate chips for best flavor.
- If too thick, stir in a tablespoon of warm cream.
- If thinner sauce is preferred, add an extra 2–3 tablespoons cream while warm.
