Ingredients
For the Burger Tacos:
1 pound ground beef
6 taco-size flour tortillas
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Your favorite seasoning
Oil for greasing the cooking surface
Optional Big Mac Sauce:
1/2 cup mayo
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tbsp mustard
2 tbsp pickle relish
Toppings:
Shredded lettuce
Tomato slices
Pickles
Instructions
Prepare the Sauce (Optional):
In a small bowl, mix together 1/2 cup mayo, 1/4 cup ketchup, 1 tbsp mustard, and 2 tbsp pickle relish to make your own Big Mac Sauce. If you prefer, you can buy burger sauce or simply use your favorite condiments.
Preheat Your Cooking Surface:
Heat up a Blackstone griddle, cast iron skillet, or a regular pan to medium-high heat.
Form the Burger Tacos:
Divide the 1 pound of raw ground beef into six equal parts.
Smash each portion of beef down onto a tortilla, creating an even, thin layer covering the entire surface of the tortilla.
Sprinkle the beef with your favorite seasoning.
Cook the Tacos:
Lightly grease your cooking surface with oil. The amount of oil needed depends on your pan and the fat content of your beef. On a Blackstone griddle, about 2 tbsp should suffice.
Place the tortillas beef side down onto the cooking surface. Cook for about 2 minutes.
Add Cheese and Cook:
Flip the tortillas and immediately top the beef side with shredded cheddar cheese.
Continue cooking for another 1-3 minutes or until the tortillas are crisp and the beef is cooked to your liking. Keep an eye on the tortillas to prevent burning; they can cook quickly, especially on a hot griddle.
Assemble and Serve:
Remove the tacos from the heat and add your desired toppings like shredded lettuce, tomato slices, and pickles.
Fold the tortillas in half and enjoy your delicious smashed cheeseburger tacos!
Savor every scrumptious bite!
