  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
  • ยฝ cup chopped onion (about ยฝ small onion)
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp mustard

Creamy Cheese Base & Seasoning

  • 2 oz cream cheese
  • ยฝ cup chicken or beef broth
  • ยฝ tsp onion powder
  • ยฝ tsp garlic powder
  • ยผ tsp salt
  • ยผ tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon
    Heat a large skillet over medium heat and lightly spray with cooking spray.
    Add chopped bacon and cook until crispy. Remove bacon and set aside.
  2. Brown the meat
    Drain all but 1 tablespoon of bacon grease from the skillet.
    Add ground beef (or turkey) and chopped onion.
    Cook until browned, then drain excess grease.
  3. Make the sauce
    Stir in tomato paste, mustard, cream cheese, broth, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
    Cook, stirring, until cream cheese is melted and a smooth sauce forms.
  4. Finish with cheese
    Reduce heat to low.
    Sprinkle cooked bacon and shredded cheddar over the skillet.
  5. Melt & serve
    Cover and cook for 5โ€“7 minutes, until cheese is fully melted.
    Serve hot.
