🛒 Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder

  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk (whole milk preferred)
  • ⅓ cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 1 tbsp sugar (optional, balances flavor)

Optional add-ins:

  • 2 tbsp chopped chives or green onions
  • ¼ tsp paprika
  • ½ cup cooked, crumbled bacon

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.


2️⃣ Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together:
Flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, pepper, garlic powder.

Stir in shredded cheese and toss lightly to coat (this keeps it evenly distributed).


3️⃣ Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, oil (or butter), and sugar.


4️⃣ Combine

Pour wet mixture into dry ingredients.

Do not overmix — batter will be thick.

Pour batter into loaf pan.
