IMG 4616 Blog

Few things feel as cozy as transforming a classic sandwich into a bubbling, oven-baked dish. This Philly Cheesesteak
Casserole brings together all the familiar flavors—savory
 beef, tender peppers and onions,
creamy richness, and layers of melted cheese—into one satisfying meal that’s as comforting as it is flavorful.

Ingredients

INGREDIENT AMOUNT
Ground beef or shaved steak 1 ½ lbs
Onion (diced) 1 medium
Green bell pepper (diced) 1
Red bell pepper (diced) 1
Mushrooms (sliced) 8 oz
Garlic (minced) 2 cloves
Salt 1 tsp
Black pepper ½ tsp
Smoked paprika (optional) ½ tsp
Worcestershire sauce 1 tbsp
Cream cheese (softened) 8 oz
Mayonnaise ½ cup
Eggs 2 large
Provolone cheese (shredded) 1 cup
Mozzarella cheese (shredded) 1 cup

 Instructions

  1. Heat the Oven: Preheat to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  1. Brown the Meat: Cook the beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat until fully browned. Drain off excess fat.
  2. Cook the Vegetables: Add onion, peppers, mushrooms, and garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 5–6 minutes until softened. Season with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and Worcestershire sauce.
  3. Transfer to Dish: Spread the beef and vegetable mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  1. Prepare the Creamy Mixture: In a bowl, whisk together the cream cheese, mayonnaise, and eggs until smooth.
  2. Assemble the Casserole: Pour the creamy mixture over the beef and vegetables. Sprinkle provolone and mozzarella evenly over the top.
  3. Bake: Place in the oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, until the cheese is melted, golden, and bubbling.

Rest & Serve: Let the casserole sit for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy it on its own or alongside a fresh salad, crusty bread, or toasted hoagie rolls
