Ingredients
For the Chicken:
- 500 g boneless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 2 eggs, beaten
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
For the Honey Garlic Sauce:
- 3 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
Instructions
1. Prepare the Chicken:
- Season chicken pieces with salt and pepper.
- Dredge each piece in cornstarch, then dip into beaten eggs until coated.
2. Fry the Chicken:
- Heat oil in a large skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Fry chicken pieces in batches for 3โ5 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
3. Make the Honey Garlic Sauce:
- In a small saucepan or skillet, combine honey, soy sauce, ketchup, and minced garlic.
- Cook over medium heat for 2โ3 minutes, stirring, until sauce thickens slightly.
4. Combine:
- Toss the fried chicken in the honey garlic sauce until evenly coated.
5. Serve:
- Serve immediately with steamed rice, noodles, or a side of vegetables.
- Garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onions if desired.
Tips:
- For extra crispiness, double-dredge the chicken: cornstarch โ egg โ cornstarch โ egg.
- Use chicken thighs for juicier, more flavorful meat.
- Leftovers can be reheated in a skillet to maintain crispiness.
