🌿 Fresh Ginger Water

A simple, refreshing drink made with fresh ginger and lemon. Enjoy it warm or chilled as part of a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.

Ingredients

  • 1 litre (4 cups) water
  • 2–3 inches (5–7 cm) fresh ginger root
  • Juice of ½–1 fresh lemon
  • 1 teaspoon honey, optional
  • 5–6 fresh mint leaves, optional
  • Ice cubes, optional

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ginger: Peel the ginger and slice it thinly. You can also grate it for a stronger flavour.
  2. Boil the water: Add the water and sliced ginger to a saucepan. Bring to a gentle boil.
  3. Simmer: Reduce the heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes.
  4. Strain: Remove from the heat and strain the ginger water into a large jug.
  5. Add lemon: Let it cool slightly, then stir in the fresh lemon juice.
  6. Sweeten: Add honey if you prefer a sweeter taste. Stir until dissolved.
  7. Serve: Enjoy warm, or refrigerate until chilled and serve over ice with fresh mint.

Storage

Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Shake or stir before serving.

Enjoy 1 glass at a time throughout the day as a refreshing alternative to sugary drinks.
