Keto Sweet & Spicy Bacon-Wrapped Onion Rings
Amazingly delicious, sweet, spicy, and perfectly crispy—you’ll love every bite!
Ingredients
12–15 onion rings (each 3–3.5 inches wide and ⅓–½ inch thick)
1 lb bacon
¾ cup allulose
½ tsp cayenne pepper
½ tsp granulated garlic
Instructions
1. Prep the pans & seasoning
Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a pie plate or shallow bowl, whisk together the allulose, cayenne, and granulated garlic.
2. Prep the onions
Slice onions into thick rings to yield about 12–15 double rings.
Save the smaller inner pieces for another recipe.
3. Preheat the oven
Heat oven to 375°F (190°C).
4. Wrap the onion rings
Take one slice of bacon and gently stretch it without tearing.
Hold one end of the bacon against a double onion ring.
Wrap it around the ring with minimal overlap—about ⅛ inch.
If one slice isn’t enough, use a second to finish covering the ring.
Try to cover the onion completely with little or no onion showing through.
Secure the ends with toothpicks.
5. Coat in sweet & spicy mix
Dip the wrapped onion ring into the sweetener mixture.
Flip and spoon the mixture over the top so the ring is fully coated.
Place on the prepared baking sheet.
Make sure none of the rings are touching to allow crisping.
6. Bake
Bake for 25 minutes, then gently flip.
Continue baking for another 20–30 minutes, until the bacon is crispy and dark golden.
7. Cool & crisp
Transfer rings to a plate lined with a brown paper bag to help them crisp up.
Cool for at least 5 minutes before serving.
If you don’t have a paper bag, drain them on a regular plate.
