Anti-Inflammatory Turmeric & Ginger Drink

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1-inch piece fresh turmeric, grated (or 1 teaspoon ground turmeric)
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, grated
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Bring the water to a gentle boil.
  2. Add the turmeric, ginger, and cinnamon.
  3. Reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Remove from the heat and strain into a mug.
  5. Stir in the black pepper, lemon juice, and honey (if using).
  6. Serve warm.

Tips

  • Drink 1 cup daily if desired.
  • Black pepper helps your body absorb curcumin, the active compound in turmeric.
  • If you have gallbladder disease, take blood thinners, or are pregnant, check with your healthcare provider before consuming large amounts of turmeric or ginger.

Note: This drink may help reduce inflammation and support relief from mild muscle or joint discomfort, but it is not a substitute for morphine or other prescribed pain medications, and there is no evidence that it “removes” rheumatic pain.
