Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
- 6–8 slices cooked bacon (or turkey bacon)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp cream cheese or mayonnaise (optional for creaminess)
- ½ red bell pepper, finely diced (optional)
- 1 green onion or small bunch of chives, chopped
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tbsp milk or water (to mix with egg wash)
- Fresh parsley or dried oregano, for garnish
Instructions

Preheat oven:
Set oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper. -
Prepare filling:
In a bowl, mix cheese, chopped bacon, green onions, and cream cheese (if using). Add diced bell pepper for color and sweetness. -
Assemble pastry twists:
- Roll out the puff pastry slightly on a floured surface.
- Cut it into rectangles (about 3×6 inches).
- Spoon a thin line of filling down the center of each piece.
- Fold the pastry over the filling lengthwise and gently twist each strip (as shown in the top image).
- Place on the baking tray, leaving space between each.

Brush and bake:
Mix the egg and milk for egg wash, then brush over the tops of the pastries.
Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed. -
Finish and serve:
Sprinkle with parsley or oregano after baking. Serve warm — perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a party snack!
