Honey Garlic Sesame Chicken

Ingredients

The Base:

  • Chicken: 1 lb chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces.
  • Veggies: 1/2 lb fresh green beans (trimmed).
  • Garnish: Toasted sesame seeds, sliced green onions, and a sprig of fresh dill (as seen in the photo).

The Sauce:

  • 3 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sriracha (optional, for a hint of heat)

Instructions

  1. Prep the Chicken: Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper. For extra crispiness, lightly toss them in 1 tbsp of cornstarch.
  2. Sear the Chicken: Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken in a single layer. Cook for 5โ€“7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. Blanch the Beans: While the chicken cooks, steam or boil your green beans for 3โ€“4 minutes until tender-crisp, then drain.
  4. Make the Sauce: In the same skillet used for the chicken, turn the heat to medium and pour in your whisked sauce ingredients. Let it simmer for 1โ€“2 minutes until it starts to thicken into a glossy glaze.
  5. Combine: Toss the chicken back into the pan to coat it thoroughly in the sauce.
  6. Assemble: Serve the chicken alongside the green beans and rice. Pour any remaining sauce from the pan over the beans. Top with sesame seeds and green onions
