⭐ Ingredients
Base Layer
- 1 can refried beans or 1 lb (450 g) cooked ground beef
- ½ tsp ground cumin
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- Salt & black pepper to taste
Creamy Layer
- 250 ml sour cream
- 250 ml salsa
Cheese Layer
- 250 ml (1 cup) grated cheddar cheese
Fresh Layers
- 250 ml (1 cup) shredded lettuce
- 125 ml (½ cup) diced tomatoes
- 125 ml (½ cup) sliced black olives
- 60 ml (¼ cup) chopped green onions
To Serve
- Tortilla chips
🧑🍳 Instructions
1. Prepare the Base
If using refried beans:
- Warm them in a pan with cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Spread evenly in the bottom of a shallow serving dish.
If using ground beef:
- Cook beef in a skillet until browned.
- Add cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Spread in the dish as the first layer.
2. Add Creamy Layers
- Spread sour cream evenly over the beans/beef.
- Spoon salsa over the sour cream.
3. Add the Cheese
- Sprinkle cheddar cheese evenly over the salsa.
4. Add Fresh Toppings
In this order:
- Shredded lettuce
- Diced tomatoes
- Black olives
- Green onions
5. Serve
- Chill for 20–30 minutes for best flavor.
- Serve with tortilla chips for dipping—or scoop and eat like a salad.
