Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • ¼ tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm milk (NOT hot)
  • ¼ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup melted butter

For Brushing

  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1–2 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

1. Activate the Yeast

  • Add warm milk to a bowl.
  • Mix in the condensed milk and melted butter.
  • Sprinkle yeast on top.
  • Let sit 5–8 minutes until foamy.

2. Make the Dough

  • In a large bowl, add flour and salt.
  • Pour in the yeast mixture + egg.
  • Mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead 8–10 minutes (or 5 minutes in a mixer) until smooth and stretchy.

3. First Rise

  • Place dough in an oiled bowl.
  • Cover and let rise 1 hour or until doubled.

4. Shape the Rolls

  • Punch dough down.
  • Divide into 12–15 equal balls for rolls, or shape into 1 loaf.
  • Place into a greased baking dish.

5. Second Rise

  • Cover and rise another 35–45 minutes until puffy and touching.

6. Bake

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Bake 18–22 minutes until golden brown and glossy.

7. Brush With Condensed Milk Glaze

In a small bowl:

  • Mix melted butter + condensed milk.
    Brush rolls while hot.

Dust lightly with powdered sugar if desired.
