Ingredients

  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 2 large Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 12 oz lemon-lime soda (such as Sprite or 7UP)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. Separate crescent dough into triangles.
  4. Place several apple slices on the wide end of each triangle and roll up.
  5. Arrange the rolled dumplings in the baking dish.
  6. In a saucepan, melt butter and stir in sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon. Heat until combined.
  7. Pour the butter mixture evenly over the dumplings.
  8. Carefully pour the soda around the edges of the pan (do not stir).
  9. Bake for 35–45 minutes, until golden brown and bubbly.

Optional Glaze

Mix:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tablespoons milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
