Prep Time: 5 minutes
Makes: 1 small jar
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp pure aloe vera gel
- 1 tbsp fragrance-free moisturizer
- ½ tsp jojoba oil or squalane
- 2–3 drops vitamin E oil, optional
Instructions
- Add the aloe vera gel and moisturizer to a clean bowl.
- Mix until completely smooth.
- Add jojoba oil or squalane and mix again.
- Add vitamin E oil if desired.
- Transfer to a clean, airtight cosmetic jar.
- At night, apply a small amount to clean, slightly damp skin, avoiding the eyes.
- If using fresh aloe rather than commercially preserved gel, make only a tiny batch and refrigerate it; discard promptly if its smell, color, or texture changes.
Important
I would not add lemon juice to a leave-on facial cream like the one suggested by the image. Lemon juice is acidic and can irritate skin, and citrus exposure can increase sensitivity to sunlight.
Patch-test the mixture first. This moisturizer may help skin feel hydrated and smoother, but it won’t erase wrinkles or make someone 10 years younger in 10 days.
