Prep Time: 5 minutes
Makes: 1 small jar

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp pure aloe vera gel
  • 1 tbsp fragrance-free moisturizer
  • ½ tsp jojoba oil or squalane
  • 2–3 drops vitamin E oil, optional

Instructions

  1. Add the aloe vera gel and moisturizer to a clean bowl.
  2. Mix until completely smooth.
  3. Add jojoba oil or squalane and mix again.
  4. Add vitamin E oil if desired.
  5. Transfer to a clean, airtight cosmetic jar.
  6. At night, apply a small amount to clean, slightly damp skin, avoiding the eyes.
  7. If using fresh aloe rather than commercially preserved gel, make only a tiny batch and refrigerate it; discard promptly if its smell, color, or texture changes.

Important

I would not add lemon juice to a leave-on facial cream like the one suggested by the image. Lemon juice is acidic and can irritate skin, and citrus exposure can increase sensitivity to sunlight.

Patch-test the mixture first. This moisturizer may help skin feel hydrated and smoother, but it won’t erase wrinkles or make someone 10 years younger in 10 days.
