For the Meatballs:
- 1 lb ground beef (or mix of beef & pork)
- ยฝ cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ยผ cup onion, finely grated
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- ยฝ tsp paprika
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil (for browning)
For the Cream Sauce:
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 onion, finely diced
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 cup sour cream
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
For Serving:
- 12 oz egg noodles (or rice/mashed potatoes)
๐ฉโ๐ณ Instructions
- Make Meatballsย โ In a large bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, onion, Worcestershire, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix gently and roll into 1-inch meatballs.
- Brown Meatballsย โ Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Brown meatballs on all sides (they donโt need to be fully cooked). Remove and set aside.
- Sautรฉ Veggiesย โ In the same skillet, melt butter. Add onion and mushrooms, cooking until softened and golden (6โ8 minutes). Stir in garlic and cook 1 more minute.
- Make Sauce Baseย โ Sprinkle flour over the veggies and stir well. Slowly pour in beef broth while whisking to avoid lumps. Add Worcestershire and Dijon. Simmer until thickened (5 minutes).
- Finish Sauceย โ Reduce heat to low. Stir in sour cream until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper.
- Combine & Simmerย โ Return meatballs to skillet, cover, and simmer in sauce for 10 minutes, until meatballs are cooked through.
- Serveย โ Spoon meatballs and sauce over egg noodles (or rice/potatoes). Garnish with parsley.
