Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1½ teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar or honey
  • 1 packet instant yeast (2¼ teaspoons)
  • 1½ cups warm water

Optional

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for a softer crust
  • Sesame seeds or oats for topping

Instructions

1. Mix the Dough

In a large bowl, combine:

  • Flour
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Instant yeast

Pour in the warm water and stir with a spoon until a sticky dough forms.

No kneading needed!

2. Let It Rise

Cover the bowl with a towel or plastic wrap.

Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1–2 hours, or until doubled in size.

3. Shape the Bread

Lightly flour a surface and gently shape the dough into a round loaf.

Place on a parchment-lined baking tray or into a greased loaf pan.

4. Bake

Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).

Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped.

5. Cool

Let cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing.

Tips

  • Add garlic, herbs, cheese, or olives for extra flavor.
  • For whole wheat bread, replace half the flour with whole wheat flour.
  • Store in a sealed bag for up to 3 days.
