Ingredients
For the Soup
- 1 tbsp oil
- 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 1–2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp chili flakes or chili oil
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- Salt & pepper to taste
- ½ cup chopped green onions (plus extra for topping)
- A handful of chopped coriander (optional)
For the Dumplings
Use any of these:
- Store-bought frozen dumplings/wontons
or - Homemade dumplings (chicken, shrimp, or vegetable)
Instructions
1. Prepare the broth
Heat oil in a pot. Add:
- garlic
- ginger
Sauté until fragrant (30–40 seconds).
Add:
- broth
- soy sauce
- chili flakes or chili oil
- sesame oil
- a bit of pepper
Bring to a gentle boil.
2. Cook the dumplings
Add your dumplings directly into the boiling broth.
Let them cook 5–8 minutes until they float and turn soft.
3. Add greens
Stir in:
- chopped green onions
- coriander (optional)
Simmer another 1–2 minutes.
4. Serve
Pour into a bowl and top with:
- extra green onions
- more chili oil (optional)
