🧾 Ingredients
Muffins
- 1¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1½ teaspoons baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg (classic donut flavor!)
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ⅓ cup vegetable oil or melted butter
- 1 large egg
- ¾ cup milk (or buttermilk for extra tenderness)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Cinnamon Sugar Coating
- ¼ cup melted butter
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
👩🍳 Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a muffin tin.
- Mix dry ingredients in a bowl: flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg.
- Whisk wet ingredients in another bowl: sugar, oil (or butter), egg, milk, and vanilla.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients just until mixed (don’t overmix).
- Fill muffin cups about ¾ full.
- Bake for 18–20 minutes, until lightly golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool slightly (about 5 minutes).
🍥 Cinnamon Sugar Finish
- Brush warm muffins with melted butter.
- Roll each muffin in cinnamon sugar until fully coated.
- Let set for a few minutes — then enjoy!
