Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- â…“ cup green onion
- 1 cup flour
- â…“ cup celery
- 1 ½ cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 tbsp. tomato paste
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 tsp. old bay seasoning
- 1 cup crab meat
- 1 cup shrimp, peeled & deveined
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Add butter in a saucepan over medium-high heat.
- When butter melts, add green onions and celery, and cook until vegetables soften, stirring occasionally.
- Add the flour over the vegetables and continue to cook for another minute.
- Warm the milk until it’s just heated but not boiling.
- Gradually pour the warm milk into the saucepan, whisking constantly to prevent lumps.
- Then add tomato paste, heavy cream, and Old Bay Seasoning, and mix to combine completely.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and cook until it thickens slightly.
- Add shrimp and crab meat to the bisque, stirring gently to heat through.
- Garnished with fresh parsley if desired and serve hot.
