Ingredients

For the Chicken Roulade

  • 4 large chicken breasts
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese or Gruyรจre
  • 8 slices smoked ham
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • ยฝ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Olive oil spray or neutral oil
  • Fresh chives for garnish

For the Dijon Cream Sauce

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ยฝ cup chicken stock
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • ยผ cup Parmesan cheese
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken

Butterfly each chicken breast and gently pound until evenly thin.

Season both sides with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.


Layer & Roll

Place cheese and smoked ham over each chicken breast.

Roll tightly into logs and wrap in plastic wrap.

Chill for 15โ€“20 minutes to help keep the perfect shape.


Bread the Chicken

Prepare three bowls:

  • Flour
  • Beaten eggs
  • Panko breadcrumbs

Coat each chicken roll in flour, dip into egg, then press firmly into panko breadcrumbs for that crispy golden crust โœจ

Serve

Slice the roulade into thick rounds to reveal the melted cheese spiral

Spoon warm Dijon cream sauce onto the plate and place the crispy chicken slices over the top.

Finish with fresh chives and cracked black pepper
