Ingredients (1 serving)
- 1 cup warm water (not boiling)
- ½ tsp turmeric powder (or 1 tsp fresh grated turmeric)
- ½ tsp grated ginger (or ¼ tsp powder)
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
- 1–2 tsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp raw honey (adjust to taste)
Optional:
- Pinch of black pepper (boosts turmeric absorption a lot)
- Ice (if you want it cold instead of warm)
🥄 How to make it
- Warm the water (should be hot but drinkable, not boiling).
- Stir in turmeric, ginger, and cinnamon.
- Let it sit 2–3 minutes so the spices infuse.
- Add lemon juice.
- Add honey last (so it keeps its natural properties).
- Stir well and drink.
🧠 What it’s like
- Spicy + warm from ginger and cinnamon
- Earthy from turmeric
- Bright from lemon
- Slight sweetness from honey
⚠️ Small reality check
- It won’t “detox” your body (your liver already does that)
- But it can feel soothing, warming, and may help with hydration and digestion
- Black pepper + fat (like milk or a spoon of coconut oil) can improve turmeric absorption
